Electrolysis
Permanent results. Developed in 1875 Dr Charles Michel.
“Yes I can remove white, grey, blonde and even red hairs”
Suitable for small areas. As combined treatment with a Medical 4 – Grade Laser, to treat areas successfully.
It is scientifically proven that electrolysis is a permanent method of hair removal, successfully treating all hair colour and all skin types are suitable. While laser and IPL treatments target pigmented hairs not effective on red, white, and blond hair. Combination treatment may be an option with Laser hair removal and electrolysis.
I recommend several treatments to successfully reduce the thickness and growth of hair. Rate and thickness of hair growth varies from person to person and is determined by factors such as heritage, hormones, medications and health disorders. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Hirsutism to name a few.
How does electrolysis work?
A sterile tiny probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a negative electrical current helps to destroy the hairs root system and any moisture present in the follicle is converted into Lye (sodium hydroxide), or with heat by thermolysis which helps to destroy the hair, effecting the blood supply supplying nutrients for the hair to grow.
How to prepare before the appointment?
You do not need to shave before treatment with electrolysis, you can trim area with facial scissors or clippers, this way you do not stimulate the hair growth such as plucking.
After treatment care
The skin will be pink, can be slightly warm and tingly straight after your treatment, it can last up to 24-48 hours post – treatment. It is important not to touch the area or contaminate with bacteria. Post treatment balm is recommended to protect the skin.
How many treatments?
I recommend several treatments to successfully reduce the density, thickness, and growth of hair. Rate and thickness of hair growth varies from person to person and is determined by factors such as heritage, hormones, medications and health disorders.
